Believe in evolution or believe in God: toward an open discussion about what evolution says about science, our culture and race
Today a majority of scientists, those who perform scientific research don’t have the luxury of deciding for themselves that they believe in the Bible or evolution. As part of their job description, they are required to believe in evolution, or at least not criticize the theory in public.
For all black actors who would like to concoct an excellent hoax, thus elevating their status and possibly getting more money for the acting, Jussie Smollett will always serve as a symbol, as an icon of what might have been. Thus he will always be remembered by Van Jones for his sacrifice, for his bravery, for his courage and for his creativity.
One of Charles Darwin’s books is titled, “The Descent of Man.” A close cousin to that book is his 1859 book, "The Origin of the Species, was The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life." The 1859 book dealt with the evolution of animals in general. "The Descent of Man," applied his theory to humans, meaning that some humans, those with darker skin, are more closely related to apes and gorillas. In other words, we all descended from primates, but humans with darker skin are more closely related.

What’s wrong with evolution? Isn’t it right that we should teach it in our schools, since by now it’s become more of a fact than a theory? The sad truth is that there really is a link in evolution. There is a direct link between evolutionary thinking and racism, or thinking that one race is superior to another, and that we are descended from monkeys or apes or gorillas.

Martin Luther King, Jr. had a great message for us all, but specifically for people who struggled to enjoy the same rights as people of other races. Some thought the status quo did not need to be changed. But the actions and sacrifice of this black pastor changed all of that. As a black pastor, his message was primarily directed toward whites, whites in the South, whites in the federal government, etc.
As a black comedy, “Night School” is required to be diverse, but it still gets some MAGA racism and hate in the dialogue, thanks to the movie's star, Kevin Hart, as well as a number of other liberal script writers involved in the project, including Harry Ratchford, Joey Wells, Matthew Kellard, Nicholas Stoller, and John Hamburg.
