Michelle Obama promotes Peace Corps War on Women at SXSW in Austin

3/16/2016

First Lady Michelle Obama, in an effort to promote education for women, is promoting a USAID/Peace Corps effort that places American women in foreign areas where they are vulnerable to murder and rape. She promotes the questionable group effort with four women, Missy Elliott, Diane Warren, Sophia Bush and Queen Latifah, at SXSW, a yearly gathering that is essentially a playground for Hollywood film and music elites.

None of these four women have distinguished themselves scholastically. In fact, three of them, Missy Elliot, Diane Warren, never graduated from college. Warren attended college in California, and described it as a “waste of time.”

Bush is a liberal activist/actress, who campaigned for Obama in 2008 and 2012. She is known for having multiple relationships (with male show cast members), and speaking out - or getting into Twitter disputes with the likes of Michelle Malkin, and others who stand for traditional Judeo Christian ethics. When challenged, Bush invokes her vagina as a defense for her beliefs, which dos not say a lot for her intellect. Elliot could be described as a solid ghetto rap star, who creates nearly illiterate lyrics, and dresses up in outrageous outfits. It’s the kind of behavior that is idolized and emulated by young black girls (and boys), who prefer the “in your face” lyrics as a symbol of blackness instead of achieving scholastically. As though to complete the Obama failure with young black women, some young girls who "produced" a song about their gang-like lifestyle were charged with crimes. For her part, Elliot names as song after a common profane abbreviation: WTF.

It would be nice if American women could freely travel the world and meet with girls, educating them.

But the fact that men in these foreign countries do not respect the idea of education for girls means that women from the Peace Corps who serve in these countries are not safe. Women are best suited to model what it means for girls to value an education, by developing relationships with the girls and women. But if this is not respected by men in these countries, the women served by volunteers are at risk, as well as the volunteers in the Peace Corps. The men in these countries typically don’t care if the girls are educated; they are often more interested in having sex with some young, innocent woman from the U.S. In one case, a number of men in the country where a female was serving had drinks her, then later that evening gang raped her.
This is the quandary for a liberal, idealistic organization like the Peace Corps and USAID - one touted by Michelle Obama. Liberals want to say they are for education and assist in helping people in other countries. But they are largely unrealistic in their approach to this, and when the are met with failure, they run for cover and are in denial.

With all of the education problems for black girls, one must wonder why Michelle is turning to the Peace Corps, an international organization that does not affect black girls in the U.S.
It’s probably because the Obama administration has failed to provide either hope or change for black families in the U.S. Symbolically, the Obamas are largely responsible for this.
Instead of inviting scholarly blacks into the White House, they prefer to invite cool black celebrities, who are not known for their educational prowess. The black rap stars write graphic lyrics that glorify violence and aggression toward women.

The program Michelle is touting is under the PeaceCorps or USAID, Let Girls Learn.
It is under the same control of the Peace Corps, which has a history of placing recent college grads in dangerous places. Why the focus on girls in other countries? The Obama administration has largely failed to change the backward culture of education for blacks in the U.S. If there is a reason for this, it is the lack of accountability of inner city school superintendents and school boards, many of whom are represented by blacks. The Obamas are loath to blame blacks for eduction problems, letting them off the hook.

Here is a statement from the SXSW event:
“We are so honored to have First Lady Michelle Obama as our Opening Keynote Speaker for SXSW Music 2016. She comes to SXSW Music to discuss the Let Girls Learn initiative, which aims to break barriers for the 62 million girls around the world who are not in school today, more than half of whom are adolescent. The First Lady will sit down with Missy Elliott, Diane Warren, and Sophia Bush, and the session will be moderated by Queen Latifah. The Keynote is co-presented by AOL MAKERS."

The Peace Corps program is a favorite of liberals because it was started by John F. Kennedy, who is idolized by liberals like Chris Matthews. Matthews is the author of “Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero,” which makes the claim that Kennedy either was a hero, or was someone who was a role model for people - young or old. The fact is that John Kennedy, like Bill Clinton, used his influence to have sex with not only a White House intern, but dozens of women, including Marilyn Monroe. This fact was documented by Mimi Alford in "Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with John F. Kennedy and its Aftermath." Alford writes about how she lost her virginity to Kennedy. At the time, many described Kennedy is as “sex-crazed.”

There is a parallel pathology here: as liberals idolize Jack Kennedy, and are not willing to admit the truth about his character, neither are they willing to reveal the truth about the evil behind The Peace Corps, or with Benghazi, something that was perpetrated by Hillary Clinton. In fact, recent statements by her reveal that deep down, she does not want to admit that any Americans died in Benghazi.

The Peace Corps, Let Girls Live, idea is quite sinister: dangle the opportunity to change the lives of young children all over the world, most of whom do not have the opportunity to learn.
Then enlist young college-age women to travel to foreign countries to help establish favorable educational opportunities for these girls, all the while providing opportunities for males to rape or kill these women. The volunteer women have little or no real influence over the girls and women they are serving, because they have no influence of the men there. And the men in these countries are the ones who decide what is important for girls, and women. That's why they are oppressed in the first place.

Another problem is that many of the governments where girls are not allowed to learn are Muslim and practice Islam, or a variation of it, and their religion oppresses girls and women. This is probably another reason why the Obamas are in denial about the situation: they see Islam with rose-colored glasses; they are unable to see how dangerous Muslim men in various Islamic countries area when confronted with attractive white women from the U.S.

But as liberals are in denial about the real Kennedy, they are also in denial about the Peace Corps and its ability to transform culture in countries across the world. The Obamas, as liberals, have had little influence on traditional black culture, which discourages blacks to achieve scholastically. Why have they failed? Because the Obama’s are too enamored with uneducated black celebrities in the music industry, whether they are good role models or not. And most are not.

Statement from the White House web site:
“Peace Corps’ volunteers are already working side-by-side with families and community leaders. Through the grassroots development work that Peace Corps volunteers do each and every day, they are already positioned to work with communities to identify the barriers facing adolescent girls who want to attend, and stay in, school. Through the efforts of the First Lady—working with the Peace Corps—this new initiative will support community-generated and community-led girls’ education projects worldwide.”

“Let Girls Learn builds on decades of work by USAID to improve the lives of girls and women around the world. Through Let Girls Learn, USAID will focus on increasing access to quality education, reducing barriers to success, and empowering adolescent girls.”
The reality is that women should not be allowed to participate in either the Peace Corps or USAID because of the danger involved in being on the ground in areas that are flat out hostile to women. In fact, the Peace Corps has a history of covering up and not supporting women who have been raped while serving in areas where women are oppressed. Rather than defending these vulnerable women, the Peace Corps has a history of blaming them for the crimes against them.

2014 is the first year the Peace Corps produced a report on the victimization of females while serving in countries where they are stationed.
Of the more serious crimes reported, there were 22 aggravated assaults, 47 rapes and 27 aggravated sexual assaults.

PDF of the report:
Here is a statement from the report. Notice that there is not mention of any effort to close the program because of the dangers involved with crimes against women:
“Calendar year 2014 is the first full year that the Peace Corps’ comprehensive Sexual Assault Risk Reduction and Response program has been in place. This Volunteer‐centered program includes extensive training and education designed to reduce the risk of sexual assault, and, importantly, to encourage reporting when crimes do occur so that volunteers can receive the full range of care and support services. Under this program, Volunteers are empowered to come forward and report all incidents of sexual assault – everything from unwanted touching on public transportation to forced kissing to rape.

As a result of this program, the agency fully anticipated an increase in reports of sexual assault. An increase in the reporting of sexual assaults over the last few years may not be an indication that the actual number of sexual assaults involving Peace Corps volunteers is increasing. Sexual assault is a widely underreported crime globally, and Peace Corps’ extensive efforts to provide training and raise awareness were designed to empower volunteers to come forward. “

One story in the Washington Post about female Peace Corps volunteers being raped in Madagascar, Guinea, Guatemala. Another woman reported suffering “pretty severe emotional trauma” as a result of an attack in Macedonia.

A quote from the article: (Another friend was sexually assaulted, groped and had her clothes taken off, in public, by a group of seven to 10 Malagasy men, at a town festival/celebration. All had been drinking, including the volunteer.) For the Peace Corps, it's not a big deal.
Here are links to seven separate articles about how Peace Corps leaders in the field or in Washington, "abandoned" women or covered up issues regarding their safety while they served overseas:

What’s the problem here? Liberals can’t close down the program because it represents Kennedy’s highest ideals, despite it being a foundationally flawed program. What is Michelle Obama doing instead? Promoting the program as an ideal was to serve for young people, but especially young white female college grads. In fact, Michelle can be seen pictured with two young white girls promoting the program; in the background is an ad for a tampon manufacturer, Always, and Let Girls Learn. The idea, again, is for U.S. women (and men) to help as many as “62 million women around the world who do not attend school.” She is also pictured with Muslim girls in England in an areas, or school, where they obviously do not need Peace Corps volunteers.

But rather than encourage women to volunteer for the effort, it should be closed down because of the danger involved that includes multiple incidents of rape and murder.
It’s an idealistic theme that includes the former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, who is running for president. Liberal ideals trump practical, common sense considerations, which is why four U.S. citizens were killed in Benghazi. Careless, inexcusable actions by Clinton and the Obama administration allowed them to be killed. Likewise with the Peace Corps: volunteers suffering horrific crimes, being raped, are blamed for their travails. At least one female volunteer who was victimized said her treatment by the Peace Corps, and their callous indifference was as bad as being raped.
