Leftists should be celebrating the fact that Mike Pence's wife, Karen, is a dedicated teacher as a Christian school like Immanuel Christian School in Springfield, Va. She taught there for12 years while her husband was a representative from Indiana. This should be a good thing.
It's not for the simple fact that leftists and liberals have trouble understanding both the Bible and what Christianity is all about. It's a problem for Christians since members of the leftist, Godless media from the Washington Post, the Associated Press, and the Huffington Post, to a relative newcomers like Bustle, seem to like to promote their ignorance.
It seems that public officials like Mike Pence and his wife, are only free to be harassed by people whose self-appointed role is to talk about how they are really better than Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and any number of Christians who have started not-for-profit organizations, with the purpose of helping people.
Here is a quote from the Bustle article by Sarah Friedmann:
"Pence and her husband have always espoused conservative values."
Indeed. It seems that that the people at Bustle must ask themselves why a man and a woman would ever be attracted to each other and get married in the first place. But there are a bevy of such naysayers abounding in the media, self-appointed critics of Christianity, like busy bees, with nothing to do but talk about Christians and how they should act more non-Christians and have lots of sex outside of marriage.
Here are just some of them, which Friedmann quoted: Matt McDermott, Emily Nussbaum, Steve Silberman, Joyce Alene, etc. Joyce Alene demonstrates her ignorance of the Bible when she attempts to summarize what it says about marriage:
Karen Pence has taken a job at a school that bans gay employees & requires employees to affirm that “marriage unites one man and one woman” and that “a wife is commanded to submit to her husband."
She is referring to a section of the Bible in Ephesians where it talks about the role of husbands and wives. But her characterization is incomplete and therefore inaccurate. Surprise! Husbands are commanded to love their wives, and even to submit to them as well. But I guess submission is only appropriate when someone is beating someone else in a form of sadomasochism.
"At least one LGBTQ advocacy organization condemned Pence's decision to teach at the Immanuel Christian School, suggesting that she should seek employment at a more inclusive institution."
Wow. Excellent. Why not just condemn all Christian schools, Christian organizations, Christian not-for-profit organizations, the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity. In fact, while you're at it, condemn Jimmy Carter for being a part of Habitat for Humanity. Don't stop there. Condemn the Bible, Christianity. In fact, why not rewrite the section of Genesis where God burned Sodom and Gomorrah to the the ground. Maybe God should have offered to start an LGBTQ support group there.
In fact, that's a great idea for a movie. There are lots of people who could oversee the script, like JoDee Winterhof, the senior vice president for policy and political affairs at the Human Rights Campaign.
You could just walk around the Huffington Post or any of the afore mentioned media groups and find lots of people who could help with that.
What's the problem here? The majority of these people are simply demonstrating their ignorance not only of Christianity, but of Western Civilization. Many of them probably think that it started when Steve Jobs invented the iPhone, or Starbucks started in Seattle. They really stand for nothing but how they feel about something based on what someone else tweeted. Then they copy someone else's ignorance.
There are more than enough people who are smart enough to start media groups in New York City. We need some smart people who have a clue about why people help people in a way that is different from other nations? Are we?
The idea of helping people didn't start with Steve Jobs or Starbucks or any other be happy, feel good group of do gooders or any number of corporations like them. It started with Christians. It started because a carpenter who lived 2,000 years ago decided to die for other people.
That's why Mike Pence's wife is excited to about teaching at the school where she teaches. My advice to media people who attempt to criticize Christians like Mike Pence and his wife is to stop demonstrating your ignorance in public. Stop confirming your stupidity. Stop acting like you can't read the Bible. Anyone can read the Bible. Anyone can become a Christian and serve people.
Let's hope that in the future, smart people, like writers at Bustle and elsewhere, will start demonstrating that they can read the Bible, and they can demonstrate an inkling of understanding why someone like Karen Pence considers it to be a privilege to teach at a school like Immanuel Christian School.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan. 5, 2018
Hundreds of members of the liberal mainstream media, including those representing NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, Huffington Post, New York Times, have decided to choose a hostage negotiator to help free them from Pres. Trump.
In an unusual step at restricting speech and assembly, Gonzaga University has banned Jesus from appearing as an itinerant preacher at their campus.
It’s hard not to like Mitt Romney as a brilliant technocrat and a savvy businessman, but easy to dislike him as a change agent on the order of Pres. Trump. For that reason, his column in the Washington Post reads like a lot of wine (whine) in need of pairing with an appropriate cheese.
