We all know the story of the intolerant, poor, uneducated white man in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Trouble is, if it the movie were made today, a black congresswomen representing Los Angeles would be the best fit for the role of Bob Ewell, even if she is black.
Waters has taken the mantle of intolerance and run with it, to the point that much of what has occurred since her public encouragement to act the part of Ewell and attack conservatives, Republicans, could easily be attributed to her. This is not supposed to be what Democrats and people like her are supposed to be about. They are supposed to be living out the tolerant, freedom loving dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who had to fight for the right to appear publicly.
For leftists today, fascism is on the right, a philosophy of nationalism and authoritarianism. They called Trump a fascist because he’s a nationalist. And they did it early and often, leading up to the election in 2016. But so was Ghandi and so was Mandela and Winston Churchill and Lincoln. All nationalists. Exactly what does fascism mean?
