We all know the story of the intolerant, poor, uneducated white man in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Trouble is, if it the movie were made today, a black congresswomen representing Los Angeles would be the best fit for the role of Bob Ewell, even if she is black.
Waters has taken the mantle of intolerance and run with it, to the point that much of what has occurred since her public encouragement to act the part of Ewell and attack conservatives, Republicans, could easily be attributed to her. This is not supposed to be what Democrats and people like her are supposed to be about. They are supposed to be living out the tolerant, freedom loving dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who had to fight for the right to appear publicly.
Martin Luther King, Jr. had a great message for us all, but specifically for people who struggled to enjoy the same rights as people of other races. Some thought the status quo did not need to be changed. But the actions and sacrifice of this black pastor changed all of that. As a black pastor, his message was primarily directed toward whites, whites in the South, whites in the federal government, etc.
