Is Katie Goodman a Jewish-Christian-Buddhist-agnostic bigot, or just a good liberal performer, pushing the bounds of insults aimed at conservatives like Glen Beck?
Or is Katie Goodman just a good liberal performer, pushing the bounds of insults aimed at conservatives like Glenn Beck? She has posted videos on youtube from her Broad Comedy: “Saving My Hymen for Jesus,” “MILF,” “Glen Beck - You’re Batshit Crazy,” “I’m a Soccer Mom Ho,” “I’ll Be Jewish for Christmas,” as well as “I Didn’t Fuck It Up.”
She writes and performs with the help of her husband, Soren Kisiel, who is co-writer. It’s very hard to tell if Mrs. Goodman is trying to enlighten the general public or just have a laugh with her liberal friends at the expense of conservatives and Christians. But the tone of her fun making is anything but tame or respective of differing views.
Goodman is the daughter of Ellen Goodman, a well-known liberal, and also Jewish. She was also a columnist with the Boston Globe. From a description of one of Ellen Goodman’s books on Amazon.com, “Making Sense,” it’s easy to see the amoral link between her and her daughter. The elder Goodman sees prostitution as a profession to be admired if done well, with good business practices, like Madam Mayflower in New York City. And then there is co-ed dorms and the availability of sex between students. Ellen, like her daughter, is no prude. Ellen says it’s all just a nice, cute arrangement between boys and girls.
Ellen is “able to envision in co-ed dorms a nurturing place for a comfortable relationship between men and women who will one day work together; she can also worry about the loss of satisfaction for young lovers who, committed to career and personal potential, consider themselves in love "for now," not forever.”
One can see the progression from Ellen to her daughter. Ellen: Prostitution can be a good business learning experience. Co-ed dorms are sweet and innocent places for young lovers. Katie: people who want to restrict sexual freedom in the form of abstinence are basically neanderthals. Katie demonstrates her attitude in “Saving My Hymen for Jesus.”
“Saving My Hymen for Jesus”:
The scene is two teen girls talking during a sleepover after an abstinence meeting. One of the girls mentions what their pastor said about abstinence. One girl has “Christ” on her T-shirt. “Thank you so much for taking me to that abstinence meeting,” she says sitting on the bed. “It totally opened my eyes.”
“Only one man I’ll let inside, For him my heart is open wide.”
“Saving my hymen for Jesus. I’m saving my hymen for God.”
“There is only one cock for this hand.”
“So let me see if I can be as righteous as I can.”
“And we only do lollipop love’n.
“I’m savin my hymen for Jesus, I’m saving my hymen for God.”
Reclaimed virginity, is okay for me.”
“Cause forgiveness is what it’s all about.”
You can start anew, but if you slip you’ll be screwed;
cause honey three strikes you’re out.”
This definitely pushes the offensive envelope. But then again, Goodman obviously does not believe in guidance from Christian pastors, Christian youth leaders, abstinence, or virginity.
Goodman probably gained a lot of publicity from her Huffington Post column about being rejected by Facebook for attempting to friend some people she met at an Occupy Wall Street event in New York City. She was rejected, and then rejected again, by the nameless algorithm that decides such things. Her rapport with the Occupy Wall Street people fits with her videos.
She also hit a chord with someone who is not very tolerant of her agenda. Goodman received a comment on her blog that obviously hurt. The post comments on her song/video or her on stage singing, “I’ll Be Jewish for Christmas.”
Here is the post:
“Unfunny, vulgar, racist scum jews with their gutter religion who feel it’s fine to insult other religions. Then wonder why they are the most hated people on the planet and have been kicked out of every country they tried to settle in…Get back in the oven.”
She describes the post as Jew-hater, which may or may not be accurate. There was actually some truth to his point: The videos are simply not funny to a large portion of the population and they are vulgar.
In her blog, she makes this comment about her videos: “When we get negative comments from posting songs of ours like 'Glenn Beck is Batshit Crazy,' I have no problem because we all just agree to disagree. But when it’s racist or bigoted the little hairs on the back of my neck stand up. At the rate we’re going, I might have to start waxing my neck.”
In other words, if she offends with her videos, she has no problem. But if someone offends her, and obviously someone did, then it’s different. She is not being a bigot, even though she is mocking people like Glenn Beck, Christians, people who believe in virginity. This is not being intolerant to her. And it isn’t to many liberals like her.
What she may be is very confused. She says she is Jewish-Christian-Buddhist-agnostic. At the same time, she seems to want the her readers to endear them to her because she is a mom with two children, which is supposed to be comparatively sweet. So offend a good section of the population because of their beliefs, and remain an innocent mother. The tags on her blog include moms, mothers day, parenting, parenting skills, raunchy and unfuckitup.com.
Here are partial lyrics from some of her other videos:
“Soccer Mom Ho.”
“I’m a soccer mom ho.
So get in the fuck’n car. If you’re ass ain’t buckled in, then I ain’t driving very far.”
I’m a soccer mom ho, so get your ass out of my way.
I didn’t come to watch your ass, I came to see my Dad get laid.
... “You call a foul on that little girl of mine, I’m going to get you
motherfucker with a (unintelligible).
She’s a soccer mom ho - Get in the fuck’n car.”
Ending line is, if . . . you can suck my dick.”
It’s hard to know what the message is. Is this supposed to be what
soccer moms going to games are really like? Do they have a yearning to become
prostitutes and make their living on the street, and give up their life of comfort, as well as their minivans? And then what would soccer Dads be? Pimps?
Maybe Male Comedy should come out with their rendition: Soccer Dad Pimps: abusing their Soccer Mom Hos. Somehow that does not sound as attractive.
“Hummer Drive’n Man”:
“Driving through the city change’n gas into carbon, he’s heating me up just like global warming.”
“Now I want a man who drives like a prick, gun’n his engine while he (...) his stick.”
“Not afraid to compensate for his tiny little dick. You know what I want. I want a Hummer drive’n man.”
“H U double M E R - fuck our children’s children.”
To the liberal mind, the Hummer symbolizes excess, and what should obviously be too big of a carbon footprint on earth. So it has been labeled the enemy. Whether Hummers actually ever had a more fuel inefficient engines than other vehicles is another question. The majority of trucks on the road are driven with one driver, similar to a Hummer, and often do not haul a payload to justify their horsepower or size.
But liberals like Goodman are looking for symbols, not reality, and the Hummer is what they need. She also generally mocks country western singers and red neck types. Maybe the country western looking female is to blame for men buying Hummers like vehicles and increasing the carbon footprint in the U.S. The men are just trying to impress the cute, sexy female. But she’s not buying it and lets her man know. If anything, Goodman’s videos instruct the general public about the liberal mind. This is what many God-less, Jewish liberals believe is in the bounds of good taste. If one is going to offend. Go all the way. Offend conservatives, Christians - those who believe in abstinence, virginity. For Goodman, it does not matter that the material probably qualifies as hate speech.
